Team MILRAM will be at the start of the Giro del Lazio (UCI 1.HC) on Sunday, October 5.  Led by World Championships fifth-place finisher Andrey Grivko, MILRAM will ride the traditional one-day Italian race.  The Ukrainian will be supported by his landsman Volodymyr Diudia, Slovakians Martin Velits and Matej Jurco, Italians Fabio Sabatini, Luca Barla, Marco Velo and Sergio Ghisalberti, as well as Australian Brett Lancaster.

The Giro del Lazio has been run since 1933 in the Latium region in central Italy.  The traditional one-day race was moved from its original date in early August until now because o the Olympic Games.  The finale of the 198 km long mountainous race ascends for 10 km, with a gradient of four to five percent.  Because of its challenging profile, the winner's list is full of Classics specialists, such as Filippo Pozzato, Juan Antonio Flecha or Paolo Bettini.

Last year MILRAM's Slovak Matej Jurco finished an outstanding 16th.  Fabio Sabatini finished 32d in 2006.  So far no German has been able to win the Giro del Lazio.
